The ‘Can Do’ Initiative: Managing Mental Health and Substance Use in General Practice is a national Initiative, funded through the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing as part of the National Comorbidity Initiative.
The initiative promotes a ‘Can Do’ approach to general practice to meet the challenge of mental health and substance use and focuses on education, training and networking between two multidisciplinary teams of health professionals:
- general practice teams, and
- community health teams (especially those engaged in alcohol and drug service, community pharmacy and mental health service delivery).
'Can Do' now comprises several components including Teams of Two, Clinical Education and eight population specific modules. Use the menu to the left to navigate between these components.
Check out the 'What's New' page for regular updates about what's happening in 'Can Do' and the mental health and substance use comorbidity field.
