The Mental Health and Substance Use Clinical Education Module comprises three sessions and six units to mirror the ‘Teams of Two’ topics. The module is written for delivery to general practitioners and other health professionals engaged in clinical practice in the field of drug and alcohol, mental health and pharmacy. Participants are taken through assessment, history taking, epidemiology and discussion of common co occurring disorders, followed by units addressing a range of substance use and mental health disorder. A focus is placed on case discussion, care planning and multidisciplinary team work.
The training package comprising this training module also includes a wide range of other resource material and handouts that can be drawn on to support training delivery. Facilitators are welcome to add local resources and to tailor case studies to reflect local situations.
